Default GM 3500 Brake Vacuum Pump???

Background: LS2/Cam/FAST 102. Stock 96 C4 J55 brakes, HP+ pads

Not getting enough assist with my brakes so I tested the vacuum at idle and Im only pulling 11". Should be 18-24" for proper assist. Coming off WOT brakes take wayyy too much pressure to stop this 2600 pound car. and pedal feel is lacking.

Car runs flawlessly and made 440wheel after the tune. Drives perfect with no hiccups so there are no leaks.

Im looking at vacuum reservoir canisters and different pumps and ran across this GM brake vacuum pump. I thought I may be able to incorporate it into my Sanden KWIK AC bracket. Anyone tried this? or run one of these to assist brakes?

Have you tried a check valve in the booster line?

A hydroboost will give you better brakes than a vacuum booster and would probably be easier to hook up than that pump, if you already have power steering that is. Mounting another pump to the FEAD would work, but seems like more trouble than it would be worth just to get vacuum assisted brakes. Just my opinion though.

Check valve is operational. Inspected that before I put the gauge on the intake. I don't want over boosted brakes or anything just the stock assist will be fine, so that's why I have steered away from plumbing hydroboost. I guess a I could give a reservoir a try

Hydroboost or try running a vacuum canister.

Here's how my turbo truck canister is plumbed, the can will hold vacuum for a couple days after shutdown. With a car that light, have considered going to manual brakes? You could lose a few more pounds with just a master cylinder and pedal change...
