Default Ls1 to early (59) power glide

Hello I just recently aquired an LS1 long block. I have a couple questions. I am really good with mechanics and electronics and capable of the swap into my 59 El camino. I have the original 283 and Power glide right now. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to use the stock adapter which was between the original 283 to the powerglide for the LS1 to powerglide conversion. Also I have a 2001 LS1 from a camaro with original flex plate. Which torque converter will i need to use with the pwerglide.

2ndly I was told the LS1 5.7 had 60k miles yet when I ran a vin check and the yard chieck from which it came (KLQ yards) the list was 144k miles. I am new to the LS1 and wondered if i drop the pan and covers and valley pan what should i look for.
Thanks in advance Sorry for all the questions but i couldnt find a search which would answer my question about the early power glide. Thanks
