4L80e in 65 Impala?
the 4L80E is a slight bit longer than a turbo 400, but just as big around. I had to go totally custom on the trans mount for my 93 S-10 and I had to lift the cab to get my motor and trans in together. Its a big sucker.
Modding the floor on a street car, especially a classic car is completely up to the owner, not the public. If he has no problem breaking out the sawzall and hacking the floor pan, have at it. Like the old saying goes though, measure twice, cut once. But if it aint big enough, cut more..
Good luck in the build. Also, does he have a controller for the trans, or is he running efi and kept the connectors?
