with this much fabrication might as well put a t56 c5 trans in it, would be simper than making mounts for auto trans and rear 300 diff.

C5 deal would be just as much if not more fab work. Shortening torque tube, add clutch pedal, etc, etc. Plus more expensive. There's a couple of guys that have done the vette conversion, so it's doable. But I think this rearend will hold up way better than the vette stuff. Besides, I've only got $975 in the trans, converter, and diff. My budget is $10k for the whole deal, the vette stuff would destroy my budget.

Finally got motor and trans set in place. Took a little persuasion with the BFH, but the trans fits and puts the motor right about where it would go with the RH conversion kit. I decided to go front sump on this deal because I felt it would allow me room to run exhaust under the pan and also alleviate any interference issues with the sway bar. Now gotta build motor and trans mounts, then I can move ahead with the rear end install.

Motor and trans mounts done. Now I can move on to finish up third member mounting. Looks like the spline count is 28 for both the porsche and Nissan. so I wont be needing adapters and will be able to run nissan inner CV and Porsche outer CV.

Finally got started on mounting the rear end. Managed to get halfway there. Built a mustache bar to mount the back side. Still working on the front mounts. Had to take a break to work on the blue car. In case you're wondering, yes I cut out the rear floor. More on that later.

Who makes that oil pan and what are the dimensions?
I was looking at doing a swap in a Mercedes 380 SL. That pan looks like it might work.

BTW, I'm currently at $7817 including new rotors and calipers and rebuilding steering rack. Wasn't really planning on doing those, but they needed it. Closing in on the $10k budget, but most of the big stuff is done. Prob gonna run a little over but not by much.
