Oil pan question?

I thought I read somewhere that a corvette oil pan won't work on a 5.3 in an A-body. Will this work?

Pretty sure the A body is similar enough to the G body for me to say that I think the front of the sump is too far forward and will hit your cross member.

That's an awesome deal! Get it, try it, and if it doesn't fit, sell it for double that. BTW, I bought my LS2 C5 pan on CL for $85 shipped, but it was a bare pan and I spent another $65 getting the tray and pipe...

It would not fit in my '65, sump had clearance issues...

What year is your A-body? A batwing fit fine in my car, but I have a 2nd gen F-body. A 70's era A-body *might* work. Like the other guys say, try it and sell it if it doesn't fit.

From the looks of the pan I doubt it will fit...like mentioned earlier the sump extends too far forward and it will hit the cross member before the engine gets in place....I opted for the first version of the Holley retrofit pan...I would have gotten the second revision but it wasn't out when I bought mine...hope this helps....btw mine is a ls3 with the hooker mount adapters for stock location in a 1970 Chevelle
