Default Russel Hose to Fitting ?

I'm trying to get my Fuel lines set up and I'm have trouble getting the hose connected to the fitting. The coupler on the fitting seems to want to thread on the hose and then thread the coupler on to the barb fitting. Is that the case ?

Also take a look at my FFR location and let me know if that will work. I have a 3/8 hard fuel line to the engine bay.

Thanks, Tony

Yes, You need to attached the hose to the fitting 1st. Then place the smaller U shaped retainer part of the fitting on to the FPR. Next Insert the Fitting/hose on to the port and then start threading the Retainer till it is seated.

FYI.. just in case.. the larger 3/8 output of the FPR is the outer port. The Center one is the Return.

You can place the FPR anywhere that it will work. You might have some routing issue as it looks very tight under the cover that you have setup. Let us know how it turns out.

Hey thanks guys the Left hand thread stumped me. Using some Fine Silicone spray these fittings went together well.

One more question, can I use these same Russell Full Flow Swivel fittings on my Trans, Power Steering/Hydro-Boost and what grade of hose for the pressure,

Thanks Again, Tony

I would strongly suggest getting PTFE lined hoses for fuel.

No. The p/s pressure is well over 1000psi. The Fragola teflon hose and fittings will work.

You need a lined hose. I use the Russell Teflon lined hose and the correct fittings loned hose. I have it set up for both my power steering and tramiision lines. AN -6

Do you guys not like the Pro Classic hose for reasons of pressure or something else. I already thought it was over priced at 40 bucks for 6'

Go to the hydraulics shop and get -6 JIC field service fittings and 3/8 single wire hose for your power steering lines. Adapt to the pump and box/rack with -6 AN adapters as AN and JIC are the same.

The problem with that black hose even though it says it is ok for gasoline, is that it does not have a teflon inner liner, and with gasoline you will have a fuel vapor smell. I chased what I thought were fuel leaks in my system and I could not find any, I replaced the entire hose with Teflon lined fuel hose and the fuel smell went away.

Third vote for this...also if you ever want to run ethanol based fuels, E-10 through E-85, Teflon is a must...

That too bad,I really like a clothe braided line. Why would Russel tout this stuff.
Priced at over 6 bucks a foot! I'm pissed.

Thanks guys, I had thought I'd done my homework. I knew the hose would not standup to high pressure but I thought the fittings would have. Good to know now though because I had not bought any Hose or Hose Fittings for up front yet.

Thanks, Tony

How about this hose for gas lines. They state it is compatible with ethanol fuels and will not leave a gas vapor smell.
