Engine dies when hot P0461 P0643
So I found the burned intank wires, replaced the pump and entire fuel level sensor assembly back a couple weeks ago when the pump quit and stranded us. Thanks AAA, again.
I have driven the car several times with no issues. Today ran down to Richmond got stuck at a very long traffic light. Upon trying to drive off the engine would mot take throttle, stumbled and died. I let it sit for a minute or so, it restarted and got me about a block and a half before it shut off again.
I see 2 DTC's P0461 and P0463. P0641 is Fuel Level Sensor Performance, P0463 is Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Hi Voltage. This is strange since I don't have any inputs to the PCM from the fuel level sensor.
I disconnected the battery, dumped the codes and it refired right away and I made it all the way home, about 20 miles, with no issues. The DTC's have not returned.
The shut off was the symptom I attributed the the pump and burned wires. The only time this ever happened was with the old PCM last fall when the car sat running in the driveway for 10 minutes after a long drive. No DTC's at that time.
The combination is an LQ4 with a later E40 PCM, basic tune by Bluecat, B-body tank, Aeromotive 340 pump, new sending unit.
I do see battery voltage at the pump connector at the tank.
Any ideas?
