Water temp sensor / IAT

I'm connecting my harness and there's a connector near the alternator that I have labled as Coolant Temp Sensor but I don't see any sensors on the block anywhere near there. Where is it supposed to go? (Maybe the sensor is missing and I just didn't know.)

Has anyone had luck putting a resistor in the connector instead of the IAT in the intake pipe? I thought I remembered reading about John B. doing it and having some issues. Should I just go buy the sensor?

The temp sensor is on the drivers cylinder head just above and to the left of the number 1 spark plug. Should be a brass sensor.

There a few IAT relocation kits on ebay. Check those out. I think you just mount the sensor in the grill instead of the intake plumbing.

Johns right about the sensor location.

For the tuning hassles it cuased me I would recommend either buying the sensor or using the newer MAF with it built in and buy the adpater harness...that's what I use now.
