Default Wanting to put LS1 into 72 camaro

looking at doing a complete pull out with 4l60 ( to keep things simple since my camaro is a auto now ) and from what ive been able to find, S&P makes adpater plates so i can use my stock v8 frame mounts and the majority of the ls1s are returnline less yes? What else do i need to figure out. Like how would i wire the dash, Im assuming i could just go all autometer gagues as my cluster is pretty Fubar on the back side ( front looks nice though ). Could I just use and inline pump and attch it where the fuel line comes out of the gas tank. Dont know what else i need to figure out as all the GM v8s iv worked on were non computer ( but im a computer guy so i can learn fast when im explained to ). Thanks for any help.

youll need a return line on the fuel system, or else youllburn the pump up. I made copies of the S&P mounts and used them with out issue.
I had nothing but trouble trying to use the autometer speedo with the auto trans. I had to use 2K ohm resisters inline with the VSS signal to keep enough signal going to the PCM to control the shifts. Then later on the trans wound start locking and unlocking the torque convertor all the time. I ended up just unhooking the speedo for the end of last year. If you call autometer they might have a better fix for it now. Im not sure if anyone else had the same trouble as me or not.
I used a fuel cell so i cant help you out with the stock tank.

BRP sells a conversion kit for our cars now, but pretty expensive (like $425!!!)
They have a great customer service and this kit will do it all for you(mounting that is)
It will set the engine 3/8" for the firewall, 3/8" oil pan clearance and will clear the brake booster, steering box and steering linkage. No more notches needed for the alternator. If you plan to run AC(I don't) you only have to cut that part out and flip it over and weld it in again.

Motor mounts 170.00
Trans Crossmember 4l60E 150.00
Trans Crossmember T-56 155.00
Trans Mount 35.00
Frame Brackets 85.00

Or a complete kit for 425.00 plus S&H

I think this kit is very nice, certanly if you can't weld very well. (I don't)
hope this helps
Goodluck

Besides these items what else would be a speed bump in getting the Ls1 in? Where have you guys mounted the pcm? What gauge cluster is being used Lesrace82 what was your fix?
