Clutch master for first gen Camaro
I've got a '68 ragtop with a transplanted LS1/T56 out of an '04 GTO. Went with the Texas Speed 228R and love the setup.
I have the Hawks Third Gen clutch master. Have about 500 miles on the swap and I notice some clutch fluid leaking out of the master. Hawks said to check the angle of the rod. They said it doesn't need to be "perfectly parallel" to the floor but he said it was possible the seal is being taxed if the angle is too steep.
Here's a pic of the leak:
Now the slope of the rod:
I could put the rod more parallel, but the driveability with the rod at that angle is terrible. The pedal is WAY too hard for enjoyable driving. Mines a cruiser and I'm not drag racing.
I noticed McLeod has a setup specifically for first gen F bodies. You'll notice it would allow me to mount the master at an angle so that the fulcrum of the clutch pedal would be up high, making pedal effort much easier.
Here's a pic of the McLeod unit:

Any feedback here? How have you guys dealt with this issue? Is my rod too steep at the angle in the second pic? I clearly have a leak that I need to address, but I want to enjoy driving my car and lopsided calf muscles ain't my thing! Thanks...

I am intrigued by the McLeod or factory F-body style that mounts it with the adapter plate at the downward angle so the rod connects up high on the pedal. I'll try the replacement Hawk master and see if it does the trick. If it doesn't I'll switch to your setup.
Thanks
