Does a V8 Belong in Everything? Maybe Not.
With that said, I dont think there is a better solution for V-8 power than an LS. So easy, so cheep so readily available and the interchangeability is just nuts. If you wanna V-8, do it with an LS. And cramming on in the more odd things? People ask but why? The only answer should be why not

Here's my 2003 RS6 with 800AWHP (yes its AWD and that was at 16psi on pump gas) Twin Turbo 383 stroker LS1!!!

Unfortunatley the SCAT crank didn't like that much HP and was flexing. We are now working on an ERL 427 Gen 4 short block for 25+psi and 1000+AWHP on pump

He says: "Why because it would ruin the entire handling of the car. V8 swaps are fine in more current Porsches, but this one would make this classic 911 undriveable. So much rear weight!"
Does this look like it ruined the handling?
A 2.7 70's or a 3.0L 80's 911 engine fully prepped, is roughly the same weight as an LS prepped.
A 1976 - 1989 930 Turbo 911 engine is at least 180lbs. HEAVIER than a prepped LS.
A 993 or 996 Twin Turbo 911 engine is at least 220 lbs. HEAVIER than a prepped LS.
A 944 turbo engine is HEAVIER than a prepped LS.
A 928 engine is 200+ lbs. HEAVIER than a prepped LS
A 996 engine is roughly the same weight as the LS
A Boxster and Cayman engines are roughly the same weight as the LS.
Even the 914-6 engine is almost the same weight as the LS and the 914-4 is only 120lbs. lighter.
31+ years of Renegade Hybrids, and people still get the facts a little wrong from time to time.

I will take mine with a fully prepped, UNRESTRICTED, ITB, NA, Katech built C5/6R powerplant, and a sequential transaxle, thank you very much!!

Although one thing that does make me die a little inside is V8 RX-7 Swaps. The rotary is what makes them special, and by removing it you're left with what is essentially a fast good looking car. I will point out that it makes perfect sense to LS Swap a RX-7 though. Boost and rotaries don't play nice it seems.
