*HELP* E38 pcm mounting in Gbody

4.8 (ly2) swapping my 78 monte carlo. Trying to figure out where i should mount the ecm and tcm. I planned on mounting inside the car but was told the ecm could get hot. Is this true? Now im leaning to hiding it in the engine bay. Anyone have any advice or ideas? Thanks. Pictures would be awesome if you have a Gen IV in a gbody. Also leaving the HVAC.

Is the comp going to get hotter under that dash than being mounted in the engine compartment?? Under dash should be cooler than under the hood.

I thought about that too. But there's almost no air flow in the car.

PCM location

The PCM for my LT1 was under the dash in the 33 ******. Talk about no air flow! Lived happy there for over 13 years.

Meh. There are probably dozens of installations here where people have mounted the ECM inside the passenger compartment. It's sure as hell not going to get any hotter inside the car than it would under the hood - as far as I'm concerned, that's a non-issue. For my installation, I'm planning on tucking my ECM under the passenger-side dash - if it gets a little warm, I'll roll down the windows..
