trans stuck in limp mode plz help

I just recently swapped a 2004 5.3 into a 2000 gmc sierra went to drive by wire and I kept the v6 trans which is a 4l60e just like what came in the 04...The trans I stuck in limp mode I have second manually but if I throw it in drive I just have third...I've changed everything from ignition switch to relays I've never had any problems out of this trans before when I had the v6 in it any ideas what might it my be Ivery exhausted everything to my knowledge now I need help from expert's your help is greatly appreciated

Make sure you have power to the transmission itself when the key is in start and run. No power to the transmission will leave it in third as you describe (all shift solenoids off).
