Default lq4 front engine accessory question

I am building my 240sx. Pulled the old turbo 4 and purchased an lq4 to build. I am trying to do things on a budget, to get it running again, and will probably do a more extensive build on down the road.

So the question. How much further out does the lq4 front engine accessories stick out from the block compared to an ls1's. Most guys that do 240sx builds with ls motors just put in ls1's or use their accessories, to save room. So there is not much information on it, but there is a little room to play it seems in front of the motor, and I am thinking if i can, just to save money, I could run the lq4 accessories, with an alternator relocation kit possibly, or just run no hood and stay with the lq4 intake to save even more haha. Just still in my planning phase.

Thanks ahead of time.

The truck accessories stick out about 3/4" more than the 4th gen Camaro accessories and 1.5" more than the Corvette accessories.

wondering how close the lq4 intake manifold would run to my hood, im sure it probably wont clear, but maybe with spacers. it has to be close.

So far I haven't seen any 240s able to keep truck intakes without hood mods like a cowl. With our tight engine bays the fbody accessories are the minimum especially if your fans will be on the engine bay side. I decided to go with the CTSV setup with LS3 water pump and LS6 intake. The setup has freed up almost 1 3/4 inches between fans and accessories. You can get an LS1 for cheap.

If truck accessories are less than an inch longer I see no reason they wouldn't fit. And I didn't think the intake would clear. Just run no hood for bit. Or get spacers if it's real clos3

Doesn't seem like a huge difference but with our tight engine bays, especially if you use a thicker rad tha oem, it makes a difference.

Well we will see how it fits lol. Going to at least give it a try. if it works that will save me near 1000$ haha. Worst case is I buy the car accessories anyway if it doesn't fit. Running no hood with that massive lq4 intake sticking out will make me giggle.

I bought my Fbody accessories for $250 before switching over to my CTSV setup. An LS1 intake can be had for <$200...just an FYI. If you choose to upgrade the rad check out AFCO, got a dual pass for $225 shipped.

Sounds like a plan. You can always sell the truck accessories and recoop some of the money. LOL you wouldnt be the only one running with no hood....its the new trend lol.

nohoodnation lol. And if I can find parts that cheap I will definitely scoop them up, I have had no luck so far though. Everyone i have found local wants like 600$ for accessories and 500$ for a loaded ls1 intake
