Default Building a LQ4 to put into a 95 camaro.

Hello I have a few questions, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm rebuilding a LQ4 but taking all the truck parts off and putting performance parts in. I'm still going to drive this but I want to be able to race with it when I want to.
What camshaft would work best?
- tranny 4L60E or T56?
- what rear end to use
- What heads should I use, the 243 or the L92 (I think those names are right)

This is my first car modification, and I'm not super familiar with performance parts. But I've grown up working on cars since I was 8, now going on 24 I'm starting to further my car experience by building one f my favorite cars, a Camaro.
Please don't give me all of the it's too expensive talk, this is a life goal of mine. I actually bought the car for 900.$ before a guy scrapped it (because the engine ~V6~ needed a rings, and it needed a slave cylinder)
The motor is paid 400$ for and I'm rebuilding it to the way I want it.
So please if you have any knowledge that you can spare or teach me, I'am all ears (and eyes as I able to read this post)

Do yourself a favor and read the genIII/IV internal & external engine forums.
You'll find loads of info. Sometimes too much info. So take your time and absorb it.
Theres plenty of cathedral/square port threads here as well. Again, read them slowly.
If you want to convert your 95, then do it. You can do things on the cheap if you're resourceful.

I'm in the same boat as you....LQ4 into my 3.4l 95. Just finishing the longblock. Hope to have it installed soon.

I'm doing the same build. Finding little issues everyday. You have to change the crankshaft pulley to an fbody type as the lq4 pulley with fbody accessories will throw your belt. You have to drill and tap a hole in the block for a stock alternator bracket, there is a video on YouTube and an article on here too. Send me a private message and I will tell u more..
