My harness instruction says the red wire to hot cranking and run. Wondering where you connected it.

 

That would ne to a ign hot circuit when the key is battery hot with the key is in run and start. If it dosen't stay hot when moving from Run to Start and back to Run... you will have problems.

Normally on GM cars/trucks.. this would be a pink wire circuit. Check this with a DVM.
