Problem torq. rockerarm Anyone ever have a problem torquing a rocker arm and when you have it at 22 ft lbs it pushes the valve open? No, it isn't during lift. Can you see the lobes of the cam with the intake valley cover off? I'd prefer not triple checking this way to get to the base of the cam, but I will if I have to.
Can I reuse the VC seal?

Thats what I figured. I would hold my finger on the push rod and turn the engine by hand so it feels off lift. I could see the spring compress before 22'lbs is reached. When ever I've torq'd the rockers before, I'd make sure the rocker has minimal play (a little side movement)

I was just about to ask the same question, I just put my motor back together, all the same parts, cam, heads, pushrods, and rockers, only thing new is the lifters, which were just AC Delco stock replacement 12499225. Was thinking it was having the lifters soaking in oil for a couple days, they were pumped up and would bleed down, but will go out and back them off and re torque and see what happens.

had me wondering, so I just went and checked, backed off and re-torqued a few, most did not open the valve like they did before, but a couple quick spins of the crank by hand and the ones that did seated fine, I even put a spark plug in a few different cylinders and they made compression just fine.
