3rd gen exhaust
3rd gen exhaust hey gang,
i was wondering what you guys who swapped into a 3rd gen did about getting exhaust hooked up. i am not planning to put out a bunch of cash for teh swap headers that are out there since i am plannign to go turbo anyway.
can the stock tubulars be used? any modding needed? any manifolds form other cars/trucks that woudl work better?
i know how to weld, so fabbing it a bit won't be any problem, i plan to be making my own y-pipe anyway.

Hey Tim-
I trailered mine to Mufflex and had Denny fab me a setup from the stock manifolds back.
It's custom bent & welded to just rear of the cats, from there back it's a regular 3rd gen cat-back with the intermediate pipe cut and a collector flange welded on.

do you happen to remeber what size teh collectors on teh stock manifolds are? i will try to have tubing ahead of time when i get the motor so i can fab it all at once.
my cat back is really simple, a short system leading to a 3inch 1chamber flowy and a turn down about 8inches in front of the axle.
