Default pcm relocation

Has any one moved their pcm to inside their car? Do they make extensions for them? Considering moving it to passanger side where my rear seat was just to clean up engine bay. May be a dumb idea, I just want everything clean neat and out of the way.

Default pcm movement

I dont think there is a plug in extension. I moved my computor behind glovebox but had to extend wiring. Time consuming but cleaner.

How much did you extend it? Did you have any trouble? I am an electrician and feel confident with extending and soldering the wires. Was just curious/concerned with any problems with extending them far enough to sit in rear where back passenger seat was.

I guess in total about 3ft in length. I started with a truck harness and everything started at driver wheel area in fuse panel. I moved it to behind glovebox. Driver side wires needed lengthened/ passenger side shortened. If I didnt shorten wires I probably had 4ft in length or so. I have it in car probably have a foot of length extra for movement. Thats behind glovebox. Its time consuming so dont get in hurry. 1 wire at a time, slide on heat shrink solder everything. This is my first swap, so I have wires taped together in bundle til I have it all working fore sure. Then im going to put spagetti wrap tubing on it.

Mine is in the glovebox, as well.
There was just enough harness to do this.

I moved the PCM in my Chevelle to inside on top of the Transmission Tunnel. Then made a console with gauges to hide it.

On my Nova I was able to move it inside also, mounted in the dash behind the ash tray.

Used some sheet metal to mount it with the OEM F-Body mount.
