LS2 carb fuel system
I'm looking for a 700 HP system that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but still functions right. I'm trying to keep costs down as everything costs an arm and a leg.
I'm doing a carb setup to start as I found a fully rebuilt LQ9 short block with ported 243 heads and LS6 cam and want the option to do and EFI swap later or run nitrous.
I don't weld so I'm in a tough spot as far as labor to upfront cost goes. I can't justify a ricks tank. Would like to keep my stock tank or use a tanks inc. one maybe.
Just want to do it right the first time so as I upgrade I'm already set and hate doing things twice
If you want something that will also support EFI the you need to think more on the lines of an internal pump and sump of some sort. Tanks Inc has some good info about there systems with carb motors. Gonna be some bucks up front but probably cheaper than doing it twice.
Cheapest way to sump a tank is drill 3 holes in the bottom of the tank than weld a cigarette pack sized sump on the bottom of that. Hook a fitting into the weld on sump and you can run an external carb or EFI pump. Shouldn't cost much to get that done if you do the labor of dropping and cleaning out the tank. Any good radiator shop can do the weld or even soldering.
