Default Fox Body steering column adjustment

I am in the process of 4.8 swapping my 89 fox body. I am running a AJE k member and Kooks 1 7/8 headers and the header is hitting the steering shaft very slightly. I know the steering shaft can move in and out (which isnt really helping me) but is there a way to move it side to side? If I can move the column towards the passenger side about 1/2 inch everything would be perfect. BTW Im running the AJE steering shaft.

The shaft is hitting or the knuckle ??? I had to take the steering column out once and cut the end off about a inch or 2 so the knuckle could go higher up...you might need to put a little dent in the header also..

Yes, the steering shaft can be shifted around quite a bit from under the dash/behind the gauge panel. There are the two steering column mounts (four bolts), easily accessible under the dash. Also there is a bracket behind the gauge panel that the column passes through that has, I believe, four bolts that can be loosened to move the column. It is a PITA to get to.

Yeah, the top knuckle just barely hits the header. I've tried moving it forward and back and it really does no good.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

So all 8 bolts would need to be loosened to get any adjustment? All I need is about 1/2" to the passenger side just to be safe. I might even be able to get away with 1/4".

Also, will this move my steering wheel off center?

Correction, there are two bolts behind the instrument cluster. With everything loosened up you should be able to get 1/4".
