88 c1500 ls2 swap engine mount decision. I'm putting a 06 ls2 out of a vette in my 88 rcsb 2wd obs.I've been trying to decide if i should move my engine back 1 inch or my tranny forward 1 inch. i was also thinkinking about splitting the difference and doing 1/2 inch and 1/2 inch. I am making the engine mounts myself so i can do whatever. what are your suggestions and tips? I work at an engine shop at am building the engine, its going to have ported and polished heads, 4 angle valve job, cam, victor jr intake, 750 carb, 1 3/4 mid length headers. about 11.5-6:1 compression ratio. I'm hoping to have about 550 hp but i will find out when i put it on the engine dyno. Any help would be appreciated.
I used stock location transdapt adapter plates on mine and they were only 40 or 50 bucks. They work with the factory frame mounts and the stock cups. The trans cross member you can just drill new holes on the frame and use the factory crossmember. Some trucks have extra holes and don't even have to do that.
For the headers Schoenfeld makes long tube swap headers for these trucks that are fairly inexpensive. Might be a better option for you.

I used the dirty dingo mounts they were 100+$ but they let you slide the engine forwards or backwards. best money spent. this way if you decide to run a different trans or move the engine just loosen the bolts and slide them forward or backwards
