In tank fuel pump setups I've got an lq4 out of a 2005 2500hd truck in my 82 silverado. I'm wanting to switch from the dual tanks I have to a 25 gallon blazer fuel tank. Right now I'm running a walboro inline fuel pump with a corvette regulator, but I want to use the fuel pump assembly from the 2500hd in the blazer tank if it's possible. The 2500's fuel pump sits inside a plastic bucket that's spring loaded, so I'm not too concerned with the fuel gauge being off or the stock tank and blazer tank being different depths. Correct me if I'm wrong but if I do use the 2500 fuel pump assembly it has the filter and regulator built into it correct? Has anyone done something similar to this? And if so, is there anything special I have to do as far as wiring or does it only require a + and -?

I put a 06 silverado pump into my 76 skylark gas tank. I bought a replacement new tank and new pump assembly on ebay. I modified top and bottom of tank. I recessed the top & cut a 5 inch hole for pump to fall thru. then put 4 bolts in top welded in place made a plate to hold pump down. on bottom I made a sheetmetal box bigger than pump about 4 inches deep. its the lowest part of tank now and pump is in it, works fine. single feed line regulator is in pump assembly.
