No. I had to loosen the body mount bolts quite a bit to get the crossmember in.

I like your radiator setup. Similar to mine, but I like what you did with the 2nd gen top cover.

Thanks. It was super easy to do, and less work than making some upper brackets. They make different ones for SB/BB cars, and I think I bought the SB one. I tweaked the flanges on the shroud side just a bit, and it lined up really well. It fits between the fins on the top of the fan shroud like it was made for it. Then I just had to match drill the top of the radiator support, and bolt it down.

Got the dash, ECM, and motor wiring completely finished and power to it from the trunk battery yesterday... I've never been happy to see a check engine light before.

Fired it up for the first time last night! Open headers. It has a ticking noise that sounds like a lifter to me. Hopefully it'll free up after a few heat cycles. Motor hasn't been started in at least 3 years. Tach is reading wrong, haven't set that up yet.

Update... I got the alignment done, and exhaust and subframe connectors welded out back in August, and I've been putting about 20-50 mi/week on it since then. Runs and drives really well. The interior isn't finished, and I need a wiper motor to get it inspected for regular registration. It has antique plates on it right now, which only allow driving for maintenance or car shows. Here are a couple pics. I drove it out to a car show last Saturday and got lots of compliments. Super happy to finally be driving this thing around.

I've been driving my 67 Camaro with antique plates on it for nearly 15 years and I've never had anyone say a word about it.

I worried about the car show/maint thing for the first year but haven't thought about it since.

That's good to hear. Honestly, the thing that worries me the most is insurance covering an accident on the way to work or something with antique plates. Seems like an easy out for them.

Where is your MAF? Or are you running speed density?

It's all in how you talk to them after. "Test drive after performing xxxxxxx"

Headed to the parts house....etc.
