ls 69 lemans so I have a friend who has a 6.0L ls w/ wiring harness for $700. I have a 69 lemans with a stage 2 700r4 trans w/ hurst inline shifter. I currently have a stock 1971 350 v8 that I want to replace.

Welcome! Lots of research! You have come to the right place! Start researching all the A-body conversion threads. There are lots of ways to do this conversion as far as mounts and headers are concerned. I won't have any real world experience for about 4 weeks when I start my swap.
Sit down and add up how much you think it will cost, then add about 50% to that number. I have a spreadsheet I'd be happy to email with all the parts I'm using and hyperlinks to where they were bought if you think it will help.
