Ls1 swap
96' is an early year, the 4l60e went through some minor changes, you might be better off with a full drivetrain swap engine/trans. In order to keep your existing mounting points, cross every and axles, you'll need mounts that are either adjustable to setback 1", and for AC, you'll need to notch your frame, or buy a relocation bracket. If you have a vortec, you should be able to use that fuel pump, but if it was a tbi you'll need a high pressure pump, plus depending on your LS, a fuel pressure regulator. You'll need a PCM to run the LS, and at a bare minimum, the anti-theft removed. You'll also need a harness to marry everything together. If it's a vortec truck you can modify existing harness to work, but most of the time it's easier to build a standalone and drop it all in. Good luck... and search!
