LQ4 good starting point?

I have a V6 camaro that I'm considering doing a swap on. Is an LQ4 a decent starting point? Do LS parts bolt-on? I basically plan on keeping the block and the crank and parting out the test of the engine. My goal is about 500hp N/A. I'm a noob to V8s so be patient. I've been a V6 guy for years. I know LS and LQ engines are a better starting point, but I can get this things pretty cheap.

Yes... Parts bolt on. Everyone on here is always willing to help, but if you dont do any research at all your not going to get many answers

I appreciate you replying. Now that I know the parts bolt on it will make it easier for me to do some research. I did use google a bit, but I wanted to be 100 certain before I buy the engine. Thanks again!

Look for a low mileage engine for a good foundation. A "cheap" engine can turn into an expensive rebuild very quickly. Yes, LS engines are reliable but like any other engine they leak, lose compression and burn oil eventually.
