Default Are all LS pilot bearings interchangeable?

I will be mating an L33 to a manual transmission so I have to put in a pilot bearing. On RockAuto I only get a ball bearing option for a Silverado truck, but there are needle bearing options available for Camaro. Will the LS1 pilot bearing fit my L33?

Do you realize there are 2 totally different pilot bearings for LS motors? And they're not interchangeable?

Is that supposed to be common knowledge? I asked a question for a reason. Care to elaborate on the two types?

Well, trucks, new Camaros, CTS-V use a large OD. 98-02 fbody,, GTO use a small diameter.
The one you use will depend on the trans and bell. What trans are you bolting to the L33?

I just realised how silly my question was as soon as you mentioned the transmission. It's going to mate to a Porsche box, and the Kennedy Engineering adapter plate already includes the proper pilot bearing. I guess I should think a bit before I post...

The LS crankshafts have provision for a larger outer bearing and a smaller inner bearing. Like said, depends on transmission used. Then you have to take into account the input shaft diameter. I had to use the large bearing but had to have the large ID for a ford T56 magnum input shaft.

doesnt always depend on the trans its more of what clutch and flywheel are used. A standard ls1 style clutch with an lls1 style flywheel will use the small pilot. the reason the newer cars use a differnt pilot is that their flywheel is different and spaced out further on the ls7/3 clutch setup so the pilot is larger and spaced further out on the crank.

once the op knows what clutch hes using he can get the pilot. but he still has to know the input shaft size of the porche box so the input will fit into the bearing
