Need your help!!!

I have a 75 Chevy caprice convertible. I'm trying to choose between the LS 5.3 or the 6.0 & 4l80. I want to have at least 500 horsepower. So I need a good combo to go with . All the steps!!! Can anyone help please???

6.0 will make it much easier all-motor.

Stock bottom end, L92/LS3 heads and a nice 23x/23x camshaft would give you a solid 500 HP capable long-block with the right parts.

I agree with JoeNova; a 6.0 is good but a little hard to find in the junkyards and just expensive everywhere. 4L80 is a great strong tranny that will hold up to a lot of abuse. I'm in the process of trying to find a decent 4L80 at a ok price (no luck so far) but you gotta keep searching and stay at it. everything will turn up and keep on researching. Sound good though....
