LQ9 to TH400??
I know this is a big confusing topic on the forums. I have read so many different things. I used the stock LQ9 flex plate and elongated the TC holes a little bit to bolt it up.

Also will the stock LQ9 starter work or to I have to get a starter from a truck that had a 4l80 in it?
The 4L80E flexplate has 6 torque converter bolt holes on a 11.5" bolt pattern, Lucky for you....TH400 converters have a 11.5" bolt pattern, Of course some aftermarket converters are 10.75" & same for stock TH350 converters which also fits TH400's.
If you have a 10.75" pattern converter......Re-drill the flexplate.....3/4" is too much for slotting the holes.
