Thank you! Glad to be back....

What does it take to get a mod to approve a post with a picture? Not having much luck.

I think being a newbie you need to have a number of posts (unknown) to do that

I suppose If I keep the posts rolling (sans pictures), I will be ok.

Current plans are (aside from getting it running):

Run stock RX8 rear end until it breaks or I want to actually go fast.

Get the car dyno tuned.

Major exterior paint correction and see what can be done about the body. There are some battle wounds on the car that I would like to address eventually.

For continuity, here are some current pictures.

You can see the back of the block is still pink. Someone removed the paint from the valve covers and the front of the block.

You can also see the NICELY wrapped exhaust manifolds. They look very good. Also attached is the fuel cell and battery box as can be seen as posted by OP.

Engine bay - Nice manifold Wrap!

Picked up a B&M Quicksilver shifter this weekend and brake lines have been ordered.

Going back to stock rear diff (instead of 8.8) has some complications as the PPF (brace from diff to trans) is no longer in use. Will have to fabricate some sort of mount to secure the nose of the diff.

Progress pics soon.

I got the brake kit with a line lock... and from what I understand, the stock rear is 4.44 gears... Wont be hard to melt these things off (because it def wont be getting traction with these tires).

Wat? In the exhaust....

Made some progress tonight. Shifter and bracket attached to trans and cable has been run. Put a hole in the tunnel to allow for the cable to be run.

Will be making a mounting plate to plug the old shifter hole tomorrow. Will be cutting up the old shifter surround to make room for the B&M and hopefully keep a finished look. Excited to see how it turns out. Looks better than I thought it would.

FWIW,, I've worked on a fair number of road race V8's we use -12 from right to left valve cover at the rear then to the catchcan/seperator.. then there is a vent at the front of both valve covers.. (NA induction and no dry sump. )
Dry sump gets rid of all the oil issues.. just $$^100th

Not much of an update unfortunately... Have been collecting some parts. Time to get to work!

Currently figuring out what yoke I need for the trans so I can get the driveshaft squared away.

Car will be going to get brake lines put on. Will be running copper brake lines.

I picked up the Hinson bumpsteer kit to compensate for the coilovers, as well as picked up some lateral links to replace the bent ones.

Also picked up a line lock, trans cooler, lines and fan and a few other odds and ends.

List of things to do seems to be getting smaller. Hope to have this drivable within a month!

I now have this gem. It is in indiana. I have it moving under its own power. Waiting on radiator to come back from getting modified. After that. Oil change and tune.
