Power Steering Pump ?
Took it out of the Jeep myself.
I have C5 pump and accessories on my L33.
The car steered way to easy.
So talked with turn one and bought their flow control valve.
He said run it as is and maybe drill the hole if needed.
It worked pretty well. But I'd hardly call it a high effort box.
Maybe for a Jeep with big tires.
Also, while I love the fast ratio for normal driving, it's too fast for a low nine second car.
Would be ok if the effort were higher.
Anyway, the flow control works.
I have a truck pump with a hydroboost and a third gen camaro box. I'm hoping to bring the flow down to make highway cruising a little more relaxed.
Now I've got an LS1 pump and remote reservoir on and I'm having assist problems...
With quick direction changes, it seems my systems drops assist off mid-wheel-turn.
Should I be looking at my pump being bad? It's just a parts store rebuilt unit.
Also, it seems the pulley/shaft has quite a bit of endplay... is this normal? Or is this a tell tale that the pump needs replaced?
