Default another foxbody build

hi everyone im thinking about swaping a carbed 5.3 or 6.0 with machined ls3 heads into my 1985 mustang gt (that came factory carbed) so i figure i could get away with reusing the fuel line's thats all ready there and cut down on wiring
as for trans im thinking th400 with a 4500stall because ive never seen a th400 break at the track before
and to cut costs im thinking about building the stock 8.8
my goals are to make about 700whp (or more) this will be a street/strip car
im not afraid of turbo charging to reach my goal

Welcome, sir.

Good to see another rescued pony.

The LQx with ls3 heads and a th400 will be an excellent starting point. But I don't think the stock fuel system on the fox is going to get you to your goals.

Do you have any specific questions for us?

None of this is probably going to be what you want to hear, but here goes...

The AJE k-member and transmission mount seems to be a very trouble free combination. It sets the engine and transmission in at the proper angle, heard lots of good things about it. Not the cheapest, but possibly the easiest.

Go with a cheap eBay/on3 turbo. They're like $250 for a turbo that will put over 600hp on the floor.

I'm not keen on carburetor fuel systems, so someone else will have to help you with that.

As for the th400, don't buy it if it has anything growing on, in, or out of it... Other than that, they are pretty bulletproof. I just try not to buy anything from anyone wearing overalls or cut off denim shorts.

You will need a blow thru carb if you want turbo, stock lines I dont think would work if your trying to reach 700hp. DirtyDingo sells mounts that you can use your stock K member.
