1986 Iroc Procharged 408
I put on the blower bracket from Indiana muscle car. Justin did some nice work on this thing. Should clear the stock hood just fine.
I think I'm going to re-clock the blower outlet to face the fender, kinda like a TPI setup. Then try to run the intake pipe where the outlet is sitting in this pic. we'll see. Looks like the upper radiator hose is going to have to be an immediate 90° off the radiator.
Overall the fitment seems good.
Not much progress this weekend. I started putting the Kurt urban steam vent kit in. Fits really nice with the FAST 102 intake. I've been working on assembling the intake. I'll get some pics this week. Working on getting a transmission.
You're not going to believe it, but it only has 39k miles on it.
Is that the factory yellow on that? So is that an 85? I think that was the only year. Yes, definitely start a build thread. Love seeing fellow Irocs.
Sent you a P.M.

Mine is a factory yellow car, it is an 87. Yellow was available on Camaros in 85, 86, 87 and 88 but as far as I know it was not available on the IROC in 1988. Only 3,052 yellow Camaros were built in 1987. There was no breakdown on how many of that 3,052 were IROC-Z tho unfortunately.
I love seeing IROCs too. Im glad to see they are finally getting to be "cool" again. I got so sick of hearing the mullet jokes my entire life...

I ended up ordering a badass Magnum from Jeremy. He suggested the 2.66 gear set with the .74 / .50 overdrive. Perfect for what I'm going to be doing. He did a great job answering my questions and talking Irocs.
Some small updates:
I used a stock 98-02 f-body upper radiator hose without power steering. Dayco 71981. Seems to fit. Need to check with the blower belt.

Used Dayco 71321 lower radiator hose. Had to trim it on both ends. But it fits well since I'm using a Griffin radiator so it needed to have a 1.5" end.

Got a general layout for the high pressure power steering hose. Just need to cut a length of -6an hose. It will just loop around. Order a power steering cooler and a remote tank waiting on those to finish the rest of the lines.

Finished positioning the brake lines.
This is the passenger side:

Along the cross tube. Plenty of clearance for the oil pan.

Put the pilot bearing and flywheel on. Getting ready to check the bellhousing. You can see the fitment of the headers. I think I'm going to get some heat shield for the floor.

I'm going to run the fuel lines as tight as I can to the frame rail. And probably wrap them in some heat sheilding.

So far so good, no major problems yet.

There seems to be plenty of clearance, I'd say at least 2" or more.
The lines are somewhat in the stock location in the engine bay for a TPI. I'll get some pics once I finish routing them in the engine bay.

Also, finally got my power steering cooler from Derale towards the end of Jan. I made 2 simple brackets to re-use the mounting holes for the original power steering loop. I try to avoid drilling holes in the car when I can. I need to modify the inlet on the P.S pump, it's pointing down so it's going to be tough to get a supply hose to it. Also, need to find a spot for the reservior, then I can run some lines.

Slowly making progress....
