LQ9 Questions for Swap
So I picked up this LQ9 with the following already done to it:
-243 heads from a cts-v not milled, BTR .660 dual springs. heads have about 20k
-Ls7 lifters about 5k on them
-TSP 228R cam, has about 5k as well
-measured pushrod length for new heads and lifters, motor is very quiet
-f body oil pan for clearance
-rear main seal is new, along with front timing cover seal
-oil pan seal is new
-head gaskets new
-intake gaskets new
-ls6 valley pan (built in oil seperator)
-new knock sensors under the valley pan (preventative measure)
As far as I'm concerned, a lot of preventive maintenance went into this build, and I know the kid personally and driven his truck with this motor before he pulled it to start his next build.
Below is the intake manifold that was sold with the car (a little difficult to see):
But I cannot use the truck intake manifold with clearance issues so I am reaching out to see what my best option would be...
I've read that the LS6 intake is popular along with the LS1. LS2 manifold is possible too? If I could get some input, that would be great.
Also, I am aware that I will need to change the way the accessories are, as he had this in a truck where clearance was not an issue. Where or what should I get for this? I would not need P/S but will be adding AC. Any thoughts?
Thanks ahead of time!
You'll need LS1 injectors and a fuel rail, but your 3 bolt DBW TB will bolt up fine.
For accessories, check out the Porsche builds here. Seems like 98-02 F body are popular in 944s. Renegade hybrids may have some parts you need too.
