turbo vette buggy
turbo vette buggy I'm seriously considering selling/ parting out my 01ss and getting a c4 vette to strip down to nothing but essentials and swap my t56, 4.8 and gt45 into it. It would be kinda like but make 700 at the wheels and it wouldn't spray fluids everywhere. Any thoughts on how something like this would or wouldn't hook?

I am building 1 right now.Make sure you get an 85up 4+3 car because it has the dana 44hd in it.I just got a complete 5.3 set up out of a Tahoe that only had 51000 miles on it.I am only going to put a cam,headers& tune on it.I am going to put the 5.3 on the 4+3 trans.You can just run switched 12v to the overdrive unit and control it that way.I would guess to run a 4l60e you would have to put a tailshaft housing from a vette 700r4 on it because of that beam under the vette.I am going to save the 4l60e that I got with the motor for later.I can have the auto trans deleted with the vats and other smog stuff when I send the ecm out.The vette chassis parts are built on the strong side and parts are cheap from Rock Auto.There were many different front & rear springs and sway bars offered for the c4 chassis from gm.The springs have a 3 letter code molded into them for id.The later versions of the c4 have a front brake package rpo j55 with 13" front rotors.The car the Roadkill guys started with was an 84 and they had very stiff springs.I would guess for traction you would try a soft rear spring 1st.I an building mine for running dirt roads with mid size off road tires.
