Default TCC Switch - physical installation

Not a wiring question.

It occurred to me that (https://www.psiconversion.com/produc.../KIT-1002.html) I have this setup incorrectly.

Should the brake pedal depress or release this switch when I apply brakes in the vehicle? I.E. right now, I have it set up so that pressing the brake pedal moves the brake pedal arm off of the switch and lets the plunger out.

Thanks

You have it right. It should release the plunger when the pedal is pushed down.

Thank you sir that's great news. Happen to know the thread pitch? I thought 1/2-13 but the nut gets a little tight and I don't want to damage the threads.

Depends on the car. If Lolvo=Volvo, at least on a 240, it's press in to turn brake lights on.

That particular switch, one of contacts is open and the other is closed when it's out, and that switches when you press it in - so if you've got it backwards, just reverse the pairs of connectors.

I needed nuts for mine as well, thanks for figuring out the thread for me

The link the OP posted is of a GM switch, that's what I was going on.

It does indeed, actually my vanity license plate!

Recognize your name from TBricks I think.

Actually not the Volvo switch, I'm keeping that in its stock location for brake lights. On my '93, theres a bracket below the pivot point of the pedal that literally is designed to accept another brake switch. No idea why, but I used it. It allows reverse plunger operation as opposed to the other position.

These cars were made to be swapped ha. Standalone A/C, standalone body harness, and so much room for activities.
