4l80e floor shifter? ?

4l80e floor shifter? ? So most aftermarket shifters are for 4l60's what's it take to make them work on 4l80e? ? I understand that there becomes a prob with getting trans into first manualy? Or is it something else?
Is it a mod to the shifter gate, or linkage or what??
I'm wanting to use a pistol grip/ratchet type shifter .

Not the selector shaft itself, the lever bracket that bolts to it and has the pin at the other end for attaching the cable. If you use the stock lever, you'll also need to grind/file down the diameter of the cable attachment pin as it's too large for the eye of the 4L60 shifter cable end to fit over.
