how to put a 4l80e on a VVT 6.0l?
I have a 2014 6.0 with variable timing including harness and ecm. I want to run my 4l80e behind it. do I just need to splice in the 4l80e plugs into the new harness and then program for the trans?
A 2014 6.0 probably had a 6L80e or 6L90e trans which has the TCM inside of it. If you confirm this to be correct it's probably best to get an entire new harness. You will also have to get a TCM to control it probably a T42. If you are running a stock engine, I would talk with someone who builds the harness and tunes ECM's to make the changes all together.
Yes, that's what I did. I have a vvt 6.2 l92 that originally came with a 6l80e, now paired with a 4l80e out or a different application. I grabbed a t42 tcu to control the trans, and had the ecm flashed with a proper program. It works perfectly.
