Alternator - Which wires?
I have the one wire hooked up into the 4 pin connector (I think its considered slot L on the connector?)
In some places I'm reading that 2 pins on the connector need to be used for some models of alternator? What I seem to have gathered (which may be 100% wrong) is that the pin on the connector (slot L, i think its called again) is the exciter wire, and comes into play when the ECU determines that the alternator needs to charge the battery?
And I read that in some instances, the pin right beside it needs to be wired up into a switched 12v....but I cant seem to find out why.
Someone please steer me in the right direction, I just picked up a new battery and am trying to avoid running it dead a few times to figure out what i need to do!
Thanks
Andrew
