Neutral safty switch help To start with I have 79 Z28 with a lq4 and a 4L80E out of a 2003 Silverado. I think I have all the wiring working correctly except the NSS. I have about 1200 miles on the car and everything is working good, except I can start it in any gear. I have the PRNDL switch hooked up to the trans, and all the gears correspond correctly in HPTuners, which I also have set to only start in Park and Neutral. Is there something I am missing? I am using a B&M quicksilver shifter, so I can mount a micro switch on that, but I would rather do that as a last resort. Do I need to tie the factory purple wire under the dash to something on the computer side? Thanks!
The transmission mounted NSS needs a starter relay wired to it to work. The purple wire from the ignition switch would go to the relay, then to the starter. The NSS will run the relay. Im guessing you dont have one?
