Default 5.3 Fusebox Problems!

Hello,

Im Swaping a 5.3 into a Foxbody Mustang. Stock harness and stock bulky fusebox.

Im putting power to the main stud of the fuse box, and ran C1 - A9 to a fused Run/Start source.

Every time I turn the key to the ON position, I instantly blow a fuse labeled "SEO IGN". Not sure where I went wrong. What could I be missing?

Hopefully someone can point me into the right direction. Thank you!

The fuseblock needs to match the harness. If you are using a Drive by wire setup, you must use the newer version of the truck fuseblock. I was running a drive by cable setup and tried to use a 2003/04 DBW fuseblock and repeatedly blew a fuse (can't remember which one). I had a 2001 DBC truck fuseblock that I plugged in and everything worked fine.

Thank you, that is interesting, ill try another fuseblock and see if that works.

I have a 2000 truck motor and harness. It is possible that I may have purchased a fuseblock that is for drive by wire

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks!

You were right , I had a 03+ fusebox. I Bought a 2000 5.3 fusebox, and everything works as it should.

Thanks!
