Default engine bucks and jerks

I just put a 02 Camaro engine and T56 in my 68 Nova.Looks great fires right up,idles smooth but when you start down the road in about 3rd gear it starts to jerk like it is running out of fuel. If you feather it lightly it runs fair, but if you hold it to the floor it stalls. I put a fuel gauge on it where I could watch it going down the road it never moves off 58 psi. Checked the maf, grounds, has new o2 sensors, voltage is over 14 volts, nothing I've tried makes any difference. The only code is low voltage from knock sensor. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you're running out of fuel but you should see codes for that. I had a similar issue twice: Once was a bad (almost new) Vette filter/regulator. The other time I had to remove a header (I forget why) and in doing so I had cracked a spark plug. Even after very careful inspection I could not see any cracks, but the folks smarter than me here on this forum told me to replace the plugs. And they were right...fixed it completely. Not sure if this is your problem but it's a cheap place to start looking.

You can also check for vacuum leaks or poor sealing around the air cleaner and MAF, etc.

Check your tune. I had the same problem, my speed limiter was set to 155. the computer thought I was going 155 when I was only going 75. Had frost reflashed and the problem was gone. Hope this helps

It seems like the warmer the engine gets the worse it runs. In first it never seems to do it ,only second gear and up

When I first read the header, I thought you talking about mean guys spending lots of money on their motors... glad you found the problem.

I'll probably start a build thread soon. I'm starting the wiring, the motor and trans are back in. Chopped 2", pie-cut front flip hood, suicide doors, 5 speed manual, 8.8 rear and so on... Painted in the garage, have tons of pics.
