First gen camaro A/C compressor mounting options
First gen camaro A/C compressor mounting options Been figuring out the cost to do a swap and am looking at what it will take to get the A/C operating (have 2002 F-body donor car). Planning to use the Holley/Hooker mounts for the motor and trans and have looked at their a/c bracket, but it is pricey! From what I can tell, the bracket, adapter, idler and tensioner costs $376 at Summit!!
Are there other bracket options that are more cost effective than the Holley, or is it the best way to go?
Also, the a/c in the 2002 trans am donor still works, what, if any a/c parts can I use in the swap?? Condenser, compressor or ???

I would keep the low-mount and cut into the front subframe. Do a test install without the AC to take measurements, then cut and weld a pocket. I made my own high-mount bracket a la Kwik's design, and wish I'd have just gone low-mount from the start to free up room in the engine compartment.
I don't mind notching the crossmember and I'd like to run the low mount, but haven't found a compressor mount that would work even with notching the crossmember (Holley/Hooker mounts).
I have seen mounts that were made to move the compressor forward and run off the main belt, but haven't seen it done in a first gen f-body??
