Default How much of the harness should I remove from the donor?

Picked up an '04 2500HD for the 6.0 and harness. How much should I keep? I don't want to fight a bunch of under dash harnesses if I don't need them.

Thanks

Grab the whole engine harness, PCM, under hood fuse block if you want to use it, TAC module, TAC module harness, gas pedal. And if possible grab the throttle body. This makes the easiest swap.

Thanks. I should've been more specific. I pulled all of that. The main harness leaving the underhood fuse box, is joined to some other "branches" of the harness under the dash. Trying to determine where to stop pulling harness intact and where to safely start cutting it.

Its always nice to have extra wire and random connectors, but all you really need from the inside if the truck is the ALDL connector, and as mentioned above, the TAC to pedal jumper harness.

Thanks. That's what I was wanting to know. I think the harness is just bound to the other branches with loom and tape (no actual wires in common) . I got most of it loose yesterday. Truck had no transmission and it appears they cut the plug for the 4L80e off! Can I splice a new plug pigtail in?

My usual rule when I'm at a boneyard is, "When in doubt, pull it out!" - but that may not be ideal for all situations...

WRT the 4L80E, that should be just a connector - I can't see why you couldn't splice another one in...
