1998 Durango lQ4, 80E, and ?? Hey guys want to start a project here, and a build thread. But before I pull the trigger I figured I would ask a few questions.
I am looking at a beater Durango its an old 318, its tired and trans is shot to ****, body is in great shape, its local for 400 bucks. I own a 13 R/T for a daily, and would love to build the gen 1 Rango.
Plans would be for a 500-700 whp Durango, that I could have fun with, do grudge nights, cruise in, and do something unique. The 04 GTO was fun, but I want something different.
Plans are an LQ4, 80E, and some power adder, either turbo, or nitrous.
Question I need help with is on these durangos, can I eliminate the front diff without doing 2wd hubs? I am thinking some dakota conrol arms, and some coil overs would be good. Reason I ask is I saw someone do a 5.3 swap on here, but cant remember who, and im just looking for some mechanical advice on that!
And any recommendations on power adders!
