Default Quick question for my 79k10 ls swap

Make a long story short I have a 5.3 in my 79k10
It's carb set up.

To make it fuel injected again I know what all I need besides can someone tell me do I need any of the 02 sensors?! Was told just the two upstream then was told all 4 then was told none. Lol.

Also will a wiring harness and parts from an 06-07 Silverado work for my 01? I want it to be drive by cable. Thanks!

Intake assembly (obv)
Harness/PCM
Fuel system mods to fit the rails(return/returnless whichever you want)
Inline fuel pump will be the easiest for a previous carb truck
Front HO2s are required, rears can be deleted, they are emissions components

Id skip using an OEM harness for that truck. Go with a standalone for a 99-02 truck motor and your matching trans (assume its manual or Th350/400/700) so it will be about the cheapest offered. Pretty much any mfr will have these

06-07 are right at the tail end of GEN III. They use a non DBC compliant TB and a bunch of other odds and ends not found on your 01 engine

thanks for the info! It's actually an 05-06 harness he says it's a drive by cable set up, i was going to send the harness and computer out to be standalone and get a flash.. I'm just trying to figure out if it will work or not. I have a sm465 4speed in the truck so not tranny stuff is needed. No emissions stuff pretty much barebones to make it run and run everyday.i drive the truck daily! Love the ol k10 lol

Anything after 03 is unlikely to be DBC compatible, but theres an oddball around every corner it seems

Still would be easier to get a new harness and reflash a JY/ebay PCM to suit

hydraulic or manual clutch? you may need to look at conversion to internal hydraulic clutch control

As far as o2 sensors I would say you need at least one. My Holley up EFI system has one wide band o2. The EFI engine needs to monitor a/f ratio.

You need one HO2 per bank of cyls
