83 K20 swap questions
Hey y'all first post here.
Long story short the tired sbc 350 in my k20 has seen it's last days. I could rebuild it, but I'd much rather LS swap it for the driveablilty of fuel injection. It is my daily driver after all. I've been searching the forums and have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting into and feel confident I can get the wiring figured out as well as other small things.
The plan is to find a drive by cable 5.3 or 6.0 motor out of a late model truck. I do have a few questions like:
1. Whats the simplest fuse box to run? I see a lot of people make their own, but others have found that combining the 2 under hood fuse boxes from the truck into one will get the job done.
2. Who makes the best motor mounts? I'm thinking the Dirty Dingo mounts. Anyone know about any clearance issues with these mounts or any other mounts? I do want to keep the AC as my truck has factory AC.
3. Should I keep my TH350 trans or swap for a 4l60e or...?
