Default Running a single O2 sensor?

I've never ran into this before.

I'm helping someone rework their factory harness and noticed that they only have a single O2 bung welded in the exhaust, at a merge.

Has anyone been able to successfully splice the wires for Each front O2 sensor into a single connector and have one sensor adjust fuel trims for each bank at the same time? Otherwise, it looks like we are going speed density and throwing a Wideband in that port.

I've never heard of that. I've also never heard or seen anyone successfully running both O2's in the same pipe since the PCM likes to swing the fuel in each bank independently.

Why not just add a pair of O2 bungs in the proper location and call it good instead of trying to tune around it?

X2. Do it right once and be done with it. Not like it's that hard to add the bungs to the exhaust.

His situation is a little different. Adding bungs isn't much of an option.

Since I posted this. I think I've convinced him to go SD.

I think you're confusing speed density with open loop. The fwd ls4 cars only have one o2 sensor. What ecu are you running?
