69 Camaro Motor Mount Width Question

69 Camaro Motor Mount Width Question I just finished installing a 2000 LS1 in my 69 Camaro using S&P adaptors, but noticed that there is at least a quarter of an inch space (each side of engine) between the inside tab of the mount (where bolts goes through) and the tower mount on cross member. I measured the tower mount and it's 2.3/8" in width while my motor mount is 2.5/8" in width. I purchased the motor mounts at NPD for a 350 / 69 Camaro which was the size of the engine that I took out. I went to the local parts place and looked at all their motor mounts for the 69 and they were all 2.5/8" or larger.
I've looked at a few 69's at a show last week end and the motor mount tabs are right next to the mount tower (no space or spacers). I know I could put washers to take up the space, but with this combination, I want to make sure everything is done right. Anyone have a similiar problem or do they make a motor mount for the 69 that is 2.3/8" in width between the bolt holes in the mount? Help requested!

The 2 3/8" wide mounts are for a 307/327 engine. The 350's and 396's used the 2 5/8" wide version. You either need small block 350 towers to use the mounts you bought, or 307/327 engine mounts to go with the towers you have. I guess you could use a spacer or washer, but if it were mine, I'd prefer to use the correct mounts to ease installation and for looks.
